Several $6 black coffees can turn into tens of millions of dollars!

We all remember the McDonald’s hot coffee lawsuit, right? That was the lawsuit in which an old woman was handed a coffee from McDonald’s, opened it in her car, then accidentally spilled it all over her lap — causing third-degree burns that required an eight-day hospital stay and skin grafts. Even though she just wanted to settle to cover her medical expenses, McDonald’s PR spun the case to make it seem like *she* was the crazy one for being a little annoyed that their product permanently disfigured her.

After this incident, McDonald’s made some changes, such as lowering the temperature of their coffee and improving their packaging. But you know who apparently didn’t do that? Starbucks — and now, they’re paying for it.

According to NBC News, a Postmates driver named Michael Garcia was picking up an order of three hot teas from Starbucks when, according to their case, an improperly secured drink fell from the carrier and spilled right onto his Johnson. The result, he says, was a series of incredibly painful burns.

Now, he’s walking (limping, more likely) away with $50 million, though Starbucks says they plan to appeal. For the time being, enjoy the feeling of being a millionaire, Michael! Also, I’m sorry they hurt your dick, but with that kind of money, I’m sure you can find a way to work it out.
